Located just south of Lake Samish on the Whatcom-Skagit County border, this park makes a great springboard for a run to the top of 1,315-foot-high Alger Alp. Sure, some of it seems like a clear-cut mess, but the views from the Alp are 360-degrees of whole grain, rock ‘n’ roll mountain goodness. From Mount Baker to the Olympics to the Skagit Flats to even Mount Rainier on clear days, this one’s a winner.
