July 1st-31st
Get Fit for the Food Bank with Fairhaven Runners & Walkers and Hunger Vs. Hunger !
The Challenge: Rack up at least 1,000 minutes of your favorite physical activities in the month of July. And, you have to mix it up by doing at least four different kinds of activities.
Fairhaven Runners & Walkers will donate $20 to Hunger Vs. Hunger for each person who completes the challenge (up to $1,000 in donations).
Prizes!: Everyone who completes the challenge will also be entered in a raffle for Superfeet, gift cards, and store merchandise.
How do you record & report your results? Each day, record the activity you did and minutes you exercised until you reach 1,000 minutes (Garmin log, Strava log, good ol’ fashioned pen and paper log). When you reach 1,000 minutes across four activities, email runners@fairhavenrunners.com with a screenshot or link to your log (or turn a physical copy in to the store).
What kind of activity counts? Walking, running, hiking, biking, stretching, surfing, pickle balling… you name it!
The Backstory: Ethan Hunger is on his 5th year of raising funds and awareness for the Bellingham Food Bank. His goal is to raise $300,000 this year through his Hunger vs. Hunger Fundraiser which culminates in an endurance feat where he will bike 120 miles, complete a one hour HITT Class at JD Elite, swim 11 miles, mountain bike 7 miles, and finish off 18 hours of activity with a run ending in Fairhaven…. all in one day! Find out more by visiting the Hunger Vs Hunger website, where you can watch the documentary and learn how Ethan’s passion project has evolved into an incredible and inspiring community effort to raise awareness for food insecurity. You can also donate to his Fundraiser there, where your contributions will be matched by FOUR different sponsors. https://www.ethanhunger.com/hungervshunger
